Film on Last Maharaja of Punjab to be screened in UK Parliament

A Bust of last Maharaja of Punjab who is also known as the ‘Lost Maharaja’ in the history books, has fetched an eye opening price of over 14 Crores, in an auction in London on 19th April. The man called ‘ Maharaja Duleep Singh, was nearly forgotten and abolished from the history. Especially the youngsters hardly know any thing about his life, even the elderly did not know much about him, it is a hard fact which most of us do admit openly.

Last year city based film Producer Amarjeet Singh made a 35 minutes English documentary film titled ‘ A Monument of Injustice’  on the maharaja’s life. The film was released in UK and USA; it acclaimed the film maker world wide recognition and fame. The film has been screened in three International film festivals in in Mumbai, Jaipur and Hydrabad. Recently B4U TV Channel has also telecast this film in over 60 countries.

Amarjeet Singh disclosed in a press release that he has got invitation from Mr. John Mcdonnell a British MP from Hayes, London to screen this film in the House of Commons in the UK Parliament in the first week of July this year. “ I have to screen this film in USA and Canada before the historic screening in UK, so I would be flying abroad by mid of May” said the producer. He also intends to deliver a lecture on the subject on the Sikh-British history, and to elaborate the facts of the after effects of the up routing of the Sikh Empire in 1849 by the British regime. It would be a two hour programme in which a number of British MPs, members of House of Lords, Local politicians, Scholars and International media would be present to watch this historical film. To screen such a film in British Parliament House would definitely be a great happening to the Punjabi Community and the Produer – of course !!
