The 6th Annual ACE DOCUMENTARY FILM GRANT, awarded annually to a documentary filmmaker that most effectively combines animal advocacy with compelling filmmaking.

Presented by the Animal Content in Entertainment (ACE) program of The Humane Society of the United States, the ACE Grant seeks to inspire filmmakers to portray animal issues in their films in creative and compelling ways while offering increased exposure for these works. The First-Place Winner of the ACE Grant receives a $20,000 USD cash prize that can be applied to a project in any stage of development or production, or in need of finishing funds. Second- and Third-Place winners receive $2,500 and $1,000 awards, respectively.

MISSION AND OBJECTIVE
The Animal Content in Entertainment program of The Humane Society of the United States is the only entertainment-related advocacy program of its kind. Writers, producers, and directors use ACE as a resource for fact-checking, referrals to experts, strategic partnerships, stock footage, and script consulting. ACE also offers the Grant as part of their effort to increase the exposure of animal issues in entertainment media.

MORE ABOUT THE GRANT
In addition to the cash prizes, ACE finalists will receive an invitation to The Humane Society's Hollywood Office's VIP Cast and Crew Party. The Grant winner will also receive travel allowance and tickets to the nationally-televised Genesis Awards, which honors news and entertainment media for raising public awareness of animal issues. ACE can also help the winning filmmakers with distribution, promotion, and scheduling screenings of the film upon completion.

All filmmakers who apply receive written feedback on their submissions and ACE Grant finalists are reviewed by a committee of entertainment industry professionals, providing valuable input and exposure. Past judges for the ACE Grant have included production and development executives from National Geographic Channels International, PBS, Specialty Studios Entertainment, and Animal Planet.

Documentarians: If you're working on an animal issue documentary that's close to your heart, the ACE Grant could carry you to the finish line. Submit today!
