JDCA FILM FORUM
Short and Documentary
3rd Film Festival Art and Artist Bhubaneswar, Orissa '08

You will be glad to know that I am setting up the JD Centre of Art, an unusual art centre for visual and plastic art in Bhubaneswar, Orissa. This is the vision of an artist, a noncommercial, non-profit art center. JDCA is a registered trust. The Government of Orissa has given 1 acre of land free of premium. The centre is being set up for the promotion and preservation of art, culture and tourism of Orissa and India. Enclosed is a brief introduction to JDCA.

Amongst many components we have set up a Film Forum for short and documentary films, under which the First National Short and Documentary Film Festival on Art and Artists was held. This is a non-commercial and non-competitive thematic annual event. The 1st & 2nd festivals turned out to be successful ventures - with due support from the Central and State Government and private enterprise. Please find enclosed the summary of the previous festivals.

The 3rd Short and Documentary Film Festival on Art and Artists will be held on 12th (Friday), 13th (Saturday) & 14th (Sunday) December, 2008 in Bhubaneswar. Please find enclosed the proposed programme for the 3rd Film festival.

We would like to invite you to participate in the festival so please keep your self free on the dates mentioned above. We also request for your support in this endeavour by way of:

·         Donating films made by you
·         Contributing articles for the 3rd Film Festival brochure
·         Sending us your contact details (Postal address, Telephone, Fax, Mobile and e-mail address) as we are updating our mailing list.
·         Sending us your short resume.
·         Forwarding us contacts and their details for sourcing of films
·         Spreading the good word around about the 3rd Film festival

It is our belief that for a venture to create an impact, it has to reoccur with regularity. Hence, this year JDCA would like to hold the 3rd Film Festival with a new approach and theme.

Looking forward to your support.

With kind regards,
Jatin Das, Chairman JDCA
Bidisha Roy Das, Festival Director
